Cheryl Haynes Knauls

Cheryl Ann Haynes Knauls was born July 6, 1955 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was called to join our Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 17, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents: Luther and Lula Haynes; her husband, Thomas Bernard “Tom Bone” Knauls; a sister, Deloris Haynes; a niece, Monique; and a nephew, Eric Haynes. Cheryl was a graduate of the Northside High School in Fort Smith. She went on to further her education at Westark Community College (now the University of Arkansas Fort Smith). She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Cheryl worked many years at Tyson Foods. She was a care-giver to family and friends. Funeral will be Tuesday, July 26, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Gran

Sherrita “Rita” Foster was born January 11, 1968 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She attended Muldrow Public Schools and was employed by Whirlpool Corporation for 26 years. She attended the New Horizon Church. She was a loving and devoted mother to her son Bryson. Rita was preceded in death by her parents: Mary K. Cole and Waldo Sanders, Sr.; two brothers, Marvin Jones and Waldo Sanders, Jr. She departed this life on Sunday, July 3, 2016 in Fort Smith and leaves to cherish her memory her son, Bryson Owens of the home; four sisters: Querida Jones of Moffett, OK, Tammy Sanders and Zona Sanders, and Beverly Ann Jones all of Fort Smith; three brothers: Chauncey Foster of San Antonio, TX, Lester Arming

SFC May Ruth Williams (ret), 73, of Fort Smith, died Sunday, July 3, 2016 in a local hospital. She was born November 11, 1942 to the late Phillip and Gladys Wimbush. She was a member of Quinn Chapel AME Church where she was a choir member, Trustee, member and Secretary of Stewardess Board #2, Sunday School teacher, and Asst Supt of Church School; member and secretary of Anna T. Strickland Federated Women's Club; 1960 graduate of Lincoln High School; secretary of Lincoln Alumni Association; retired veteran of the US Army Reserves after 20 years, dining facility manager for 19 years, and retiring May 20, 1995 ; First Black Woman to be hired by the Fort Smith Police Department on July 2, 1973 a
