In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Black family. Pathro's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Pathro Black, II.

Pathro Black, II affectionately known as "Doodie" was born on October 4, 1995 to Pathro Black and Mary Jo Shepard of Pocola, Oklahoma. He departed this life on March 27, 2018. Pathro was baptized at an early age and was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Public schools in Pocola and Fort Smith. To Pathro, family was very important. Pathro was the link that held his family together. He loved to just have fun. Playing video games and basketball was some of his favorite hobbies. Pathro is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jo Shepard; grandparents; great-grandparents and two aunts. Pathro leaves to cherish his loving memory, his father, Pathro Black; two brothers, Otis Reeders, Steve Massey; two sisters, Taneia (Gerald) Nelson, Tamerah Reeders all of Fort Smith, Arkansas; nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held for family and friends, Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 5-6 PM at Rowell-Parish Mortuary.
Celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2018, 11:00 AM at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 104 Clark, Ave., Pocola, Oklahoma 74902. Committal service and final resting place will be held at Laird Cemetery, Pocola, Oklahoma.
