In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Harper family. Norma’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Norma Harper.

Norma Louise Andrews was born to the late Jimmie and Leona Andrews on September 29, 1947 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Harper, Sr.

Affectionately known as “Lulu” or “Aunt Lu” to many who loved her. She was known for pinching the cheeks of many of us here today.

Norma was baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1965. While in high school, she met her high school sweetheart, Herbert Harper, Sr. They were married in 1967 and to this union a son, Herbert Harper, Jr., was born. She was a loving mother to all that were in need.

Norma leaves to cherish her loving memories, her son, Herbert, Jr. of Fort Smith, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Ariel Perez-Cuero of Arlington, Texas, Christina Jackson of Los Angeles, California, Taliyah and Tamiyah Harper both of Fort Smith, Arkansas, DeAndre, Donovan, and Justin Washington all three of Arlington, Texas; a brother, Wilbert Andrews of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a sister, Linda Pedrosa of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Katherine Harris of Banning, California, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.

Celebration of life service will be held Monday December 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at New Covenant International Christian Center 4400 North N Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.

Committal service and final resting place will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery Fort Smith, Arkansas.
