Palestine’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mother Palestine Perry.

Palestine Mary Perry began her life on September 6, 1943 in Newtown, Arkansas as the last of four children born to the late Jesse and Myrtle Roberts. On March 13, 2020 after many years of laboring in the vineyard for Christ, she peacefully departed her earthly vessel to receive her heavenly reward. Along with her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband; Billy Perry; her baby daughter, Jessie Lovett, and her three siblings, Jesse Roberts, Cleta Bowen, and Zelma Releford.
At an early age, Palestine accepted Christ as her personal Savior and never looked back. She was baptized as a child where her parents and siblings attended, Saint Matthews Missionary Baptist in Newtown, Arkansas. Later in life, she moved her membership to Greater Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Van Buren, Arkansas. She was very involved in her church and served in several capacities, such as; pianist, organist, and secretary of the Missionary Society for many years.
Palestine spent many years working as a home-maker for her family. She reared and nurtured eight children in her union with Billy Gene Perry. She also mothered and nurtured nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends throughout many generations in her community.
Palestine was a gracious, gentle, soft spoken lady, and she also had a smile for everyone she came in contact with in life. With her calm demeanor and sweet spirit, she loved to cook and enjoyed music.
Palestine leaves to cherish her loving memories, four sons, Bill (Phen) Perry of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Randy (Glenda) Perry of Van Buren, Arkansas, Andrew Perry of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Matthew Perry of Van Buren, Arkansas; three daughters, Theresa (Noel) McCreary of Van Buren, Arkansas, Vickie (Ronald) McClish of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Cynthia Perry of Fayetteville, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life and committal service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Lewis Cemetery in Alma, Arkansas.
