In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Barnes family. Guy’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Guy Clayton Barnes.

Guy Clayton Barnes was a blessing from God on Sunday, April 14, 1957 to the late James and Elnora Barnes in Fort Smith, Arkansas. God called him to take his eternal rest on Friday, September 24, 2021 from Fort Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Angela Stewart; his uncle: Bennie Kirk (Dannie Mae); his three brothers: Antione Brown, James “Jasper” Barnes and Bennie “Rinky” Brown; and three of his sisters: Constance “Connie” Massey, Hortense Hughley and Senobia Smith.
Guy attended Fort Smith Public Schools. Guy loved to sing, dance, and talk; he never met a stranger. He was giving, funny, and had a kind-heart. He loved people and thought he knew the law better than anyone. He was always ready to give free advice regardless of if you asked for it or not. He will be forever loved and remembered by all who knew his throughout his life.
Guy leaves to cherish his memories his daughter: Tanika Barnes; his son: Bryon Shepherd; his five grandchildren; his four sisters: LaRue Rogers, Sharon Diaz, Marion (Robert) Aytch, Mary Ann Barnes and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church 3110 Kelly Highway, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
