With humble submission to the sovereign will of Almighty God, we announce the earthly transition and heavenly ascension of our beloved Jacqueline Mae Holmes, who was born on July 3, 1961, to the late Moses and Hattie B. Kelley, and peacefully entered eternal rest on April 18, 2026.

Jacqueline Mae Holmes was a woman of virtue, strength, and unwavering love—a vessel of compassion whose heart was large enough to hold her entire family. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a faithful sister, and a loyal friend. Her life was marked by grace, kindness, and a quiet strength that spoke volumes.

She received her formal education in the Cotton Plant Public School system and proudly graduated from Cotton Plant High School, Class of 1979. She continued her educational journey by attending Arkansas State University, where she further developed the knowledge and determination that would guide her throughout her life.

Following her college years, Jacqueline relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she began a meaningful chapter of service and dedication. While there, she was employed with Tulsa Public Schools system, where she contributed her time, care, and commitment to the lives of students and the broader community.

At an early age, Jacqueline accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Ash Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. Later in life, she continued her walk of faith and fellowship at Vision of Faith Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where her love for God and His people remained evident.

She was truly the heart of her family—the one who kept the circle unbroken. Jacqueline was the encourager, the comforter, protector and the constant presence who made sure no one felt forgotten.

Jacqueline walked by faith and not by sight. Her life reflected her trust in God, and she carried herself with dignity through every season.

She was united in holy matrimony to her devoted husband, William Darnell Holmes, and to this blessed union was born her cherished daughter, Patrice Janell Holmes, MD.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Dorsey M. Kelley, and Patricia Kelley, her brothers Jerry Kelley, and Timothy Kelley, her Father and Mother in law Rufus and Eva June Holmes, Sr, sister in laws Leanna Pryor, Evelyn D. Pitts, and Laura Holmes, brother in law Willis Holmes.

She leaves to cherish her precious and loving memories: her devoted husband, William Darnell Holmes; her beloved daughter, Patrice Janell Holmes, MD; her dear brothers, Melvin Kelley, Moses Kelley, MD, Naaman Kelley (Tamara), Steven Kelley, MD (Danielle), Perry Kelley (Francine), and John Kelley (Michele), her sister in laws, Doris Davis, Ruth Esther Holmes, her brother in laws Rufus Holmes, Jr., Larry Holmes, and Bobby Holmes; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Though we mourn her passing, we do not grieve as those who have no hope. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8).

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” (Matthew 25:23)

Sleep on now, thy good and faithful servant. Take thy rest.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Christ Temple Holiness Church, 868 Willow St, Conway, Arkansas 72032.

Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, 10:00 AM at Christ Temple Holiness Church, 868 Willow St, Conway, Arkansas 72032.

Committal service and final resting place will be held at Robinson Cemetery, Conway, Arkansas.
