In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Sanders family. Michael's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Michael Morrell Sanders.

Michael Morrell Sanders, was born December 7, 1951 to the late Charles L. Sanders and Clinton Neal Johnson Sanders. The Lord called him home on December 13, 2017. Michael excepted Christ at an early age at Ninth Street Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend A.J. Parish. Michael attended Howard Elementary, Lincoln High School, and graduated from Northside High School class of 1969. After attending Westark Community College, he joined the United States Air Force in Topeka, Kansas. Michael is preceded in death by his parents Charles L. and Clinton N. Sanders; five brothers, Charles Sanders, Jr., Milford Sanders, Andre Sanders, Waldo Sanders, Sr. John Sanders; two sisters, Rosalie Jones and Clineta Sanders-Perkins. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, three sons, Arick Mays, Morrell (Kimberly) Sanders both of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Robert Sanders of Los Angeles, California; four daughters, Anita (Warren) Goodson of Memphis, Tennessee, Tamara (James) Simuel of Dallas, Texas, Nakia (Marcus) Malone of Dallas, Georgia, Shilia Sanders of Fort Smith, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Bruce (Linda) Sanders of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sisters, Mildred Sanders and Veronica Selmon both of Fort Smith, Arkansas and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 4pm - 5pm at Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Celebration of life service will be held Friday, December 22, 2017, 12pm at Ninth Street Baptist Church, 1023 N. 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901. Committal service and final resting place will be held Friday, December 22, 2017, 2pm at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
