In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Manager family. Ernestine's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ernestine Manager.

Ernestine Bell Manager was born on January 17, 1947 to Ressie Hickman in Fort Smith, Arkansas and adopted shortly after birth by Charlene and Willie Bell, Jr. of Van Buren, Arkansas.


Ernestine "Cookie" excelled in her education. She attended Douglas Elementary School and later graduated with honors from Van Buren High School. She was the first black student to graduate the high school as a member of the National Honor Society. She went on to complete her degree in nursing and worked in Crawford County, Sparks and St. Edwards hospitals.


Ernestine received the Lord at a young age at Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Van Buren, Arkansas, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She later became a member of the Northside Church of God in Christ of Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she actively served on the Usher Board until her health no longer allowed her to serve.


She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, 3 sons, Michael (Rhonda) Bell Sr. of Jacksonville, Florida, Tony Feimster of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Ronnie Feimster of Rogers, Arkansas, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, Betty Parker (deceased), Nola Mae Council (deceased), Sharon Parker (deceased) and Vivian Marfa of Fort Smith, Arkansas, 5 step-sisters, Carolyn Oakley (deceased), Shirley Parker (deceased), Ruby Parker, Lonnie Parker and Elizabeth White, all of Porter, Oklahoma, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and very specials friends.


Celebration of life service will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018, 1:00pm at Northside Church of God In Christ, 4420 Kelley Hwy, Fort Smith, AR 72904 with a public visitation one hour prior the service (12 noon - 1pm).
