In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Phillips family. Forrestine's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mother Forrestine Phillips.

Forrestine Emma Phillips was born to the late Joe Nathan Phillips Sr and Emma Gambol Phillips on September 19, 1945 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born at home when her parents lived on Margo Lane out in Hardscramble. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Henry and
Susie Shelley Phillips and Jeff and Caroline Gambol. Rufus Edward Phillips, Joe Nathan Phillips, Jr and Wilma Phillips Williams also preceded her in death.
Forrestine graduated from St. Barthlomew High School in 1963 and maintained a special friendship with classmate Maxine Nelson Waters and the late Cora Lee Rogers since the 9th grade. She attended elementary school at the old school house in Hardscramble.She was employed for many years with Klean Inc until her retirement in 2017. Part-time many saw her smiling face at Stagecoach Laundromat owned by her “other” daughter Susan.
Forrestine was a lifelong member of Freewill Church of God in Christ (founded by her parents, Aunts and Uncles Mattie and Sylvester Anderson and Henry and Ruth Duff) located in Hardscramble since the age of 6. She held many positions such as Usher, Pastors Secretary,Kitchen Assistant with her cousin Vonda Anderson Pruitt, and announcement clerk.
Forrestine leaves to cherish her loving memories, her only child, Marsha (Carl) Poole; four grandchildren Erica, Marquita, Cherrell and Samuel; four great-grandchildren Samuel “Trey”, Keylin, Kenneth, Jr. (KJ) and little Roderick aka Pooda; one sister survives her, Flaudine Phillips Willis;l ots of cousins survive her on both the Gambol and Phillips side of the family along with many nieces and nephews from Bakersfield California and Battlecreek Michigan.
Thank you to her doctor at UAMS Cancer Institute Dr. Issam Makhoul and Arkansas Hospice.
Special Thank you to her cousin Georgia Mae Counts for assisting in her care.
Family and friends visitation will be held, Friday, March 22, 2019 from 6-8pm at Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 600 E. 24th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Committal service and final resting place will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019, 11:00am at Valley Pine Cemetery in Hardscramble.
Dinner served at 2:00 pm at Freewill Church of God in Christ located at 8100 Calleghan Road, Little Rock in Hardscramble.
