In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Lewis family. Geneva's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Geneva Elaine Lewis.

Geneva Elaine Lewis was born in Dallas, Texas on February 26, 1944 to the late James Fred Johnson and the late Ruth Elaine Parker. She is preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Smith, and her youngest child, Gaylon Lewis.

Geneva was raised in the church and attended Sunset Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas.

She attended Sunset High School in Oak Cliff, Texas where she met and married her high school sweetheart Davey Joseph Lewis, Sr. in 1961. To this union, they were blessed with four children.

Geneva was a loving and devoted mother who always put her family and others before herself. Through life’s trials and tribulations, she always tried to encourage those around her.

Geneva worked at K Mart for 13 years as a retail clerk and an automotive department superior as well as an assistant pharmaceutical technician for nine years at Tom Thumb before eventually retiring and moving to the Arkansas and Oklahoma area in 2000.

Geneva leaves to cherish her loving memories two sons, Michael (Lisa) Lewis of Roland, Oklahoma and Davey (Renee) Lewis of Melissa, Texas; one daughter, Vicki Elaine Davidson of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and one sister, Linda Thornton of Dallas, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

As we remember our mother, she would say, “I have never regretted my life, my kids, and I would do it all over again.”

Visitation will be Thursday, April 5, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel.

Celebration of life service will be held Friday, April 6, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel 611 North 9th Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.

Committal service and final resting place will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
