Patricia’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." On Friday, October 27, 1953 the late Eddie Lee and Lue Verna Gordon, Sr. was blessed to receive a gift from God, one of their five daughters, Patricia Elaine (Gordon) Steele. She departed this life on Sunday, March 1, 2020 in a local hospital. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Lee Gordon, Jr.
Patricia was a student of the Fort Smith Public Schools and a 1972 graduate of Northside High. She was a lifetime faithful member of Love’s Chapel Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved the Lord, her family, and friends. Patricia was a people person and everyone who met her knew of her love for the Lord and learned she was easy to love.
Patricia was retired from Tucker Duck and Rubber Company. She loved dedicating her time to her family and the community. She was very involved in her children’s lives and was always there for support when they needed her.
Patricia’s favorite hang-out place was Wal-Mart. She also liked going to watch movies, sports, and talking on the phone with family and friends. Her goal was to make you laugh during every conversation. She had a beautiful voice and loved singing at church and for anyone who requested.
Patricia leaves to cherish her loving memories three sons, Craigston (Terrance) Steele-James of Jacksonville, Florida, Brontez (Amber Rushing) Steele of Tallahassee, Florida, and Mickel (Sydney Rushing) Steele of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four sisters LaTrelle Gordon of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Beverly (Jonathan) Keaton of Springfield, Missouri, Marketta (Ronald) Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas and Denise (Herbert) Johnson of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and sister in laws, Bonita (Irvin) Morris of Roland, Oklahoma, and Paula Gordon of Fort Coffee, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister in laws, and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Love's Chapel Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Celebration of life service will be held Monday, March 9, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Love’s Chapel Seventh Day Adventist Church 2034 North 12th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
Committal service and final resting place will be at the Washington Cemetery Fort Smith, Arkansas.
