Ira Darrell McKinney was a blessing to Velton and Pearl (Massey) McKinney, Jr. on Tuesday, November 14, 1961 as one of their children. On Sunday, September 13, 2020 Ira was summoned By God to take his eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his father; a sister, Arnita D. McKinney-Harris; and a brother, Melvin Ray McKinney.

Ira was a jack-of-all-trades, a talented artist, and loved to travel. His true passion was riding his motorcycle, “HIS BABY”, even though his feet barley reached the pedals. Ira moved back home in 2014 to be closer to his family he loved and treasured so dearly.

Ira loved to laugh, watch movies, read a good book, and dance to his favorite song, “Return of the Mack”. He will truly be missed by those who loved and treasured his presence.

Ira leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Anesha (Brad) Taylor-Gates; two grandchildren, Ja’Cory (Krista) Taylor and Ja’ya Haynes; his mother, Pearl McKinney; three sisters, Edith McKinney, Versa Mendez, and Sherillitta (Shane) Auguillard; a brother, Rodney (Stephanie) Simpson, and a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, other relatives, and friends
