In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Simpson family. Vernon’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Vernon James Simpson, Jr.

Vernon James Simpson, Jr. was a gift to Vernon James Simpson, Sr. and the late Angela Mobley Simpson by God on Thursday, October 15, 1992 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. His took his eternal rest on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

Vernon was baptized at an early age at Mission Point Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Albert Pike Elementary, Darby Junior High, and Northside public schools in Fort Smith, and he graduated in 2013. While in school, he played football and basketball.

Vernon was a high-spirited, fun-loving, and an out-going friendly young man. He loved his family and they loved him dearly. His heart belonged to his son, Noah. He will truly be greatly missed by family and friends who treasured and adored him.

Vernon leaves to cherish his memories, “the love of his life”, his son, Noah Simpson of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his father, Vernon J. Simpson, Sr. of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his six siblings, Dr. Tamika (Earnest) Carmouche of Lafayette, Louisiana, Taronda “Tiny” Davis of Carencro, Louisiana, Verna Milson of Lafayette, Louisiana, Adrienne (Gary) Harris of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Jessica Simpson of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Anthony Brown, Jr. of Fort Smith, Arkansas; grandparents, James Simpson of Houston, Texas; Betty Simpson, Thomas West, and Barbara Matthews all three of Fort Smith, Arkansas; uncles, Brian Simpson of Carencro, Louisiana, Clarence (Crystal) West of Fort Smith, Arkansas, James West of Florida, Tommy West, Jr. of Springdale, Arkansas, Anthony Lewis of Jasper, Texas, Terry Patterson of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Larry (Tammy) Dooley of Lawton, Oklahoma; aunties, Natalie Kursh, Denise Simpson, Gloris Sheppard, Carla Pree, and Diane West all of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Severnia (Curtis) Jones of Missouri City, Texas, Mary Williams of Thibeaux, Louisiana, Jan Sams of Little Rock, Arkansas, Carol Jones of Dallas, Texas, Vicky (Kenny) Jones of Springdale, Arkansas, and Rita Jackson California, and a host nephews, nieces, many other relatives and friends.
