Barry’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Barry Lamont Richardson, Sr.

Barry Lamont Richardson, Sr. was a blessing from God on Tuesday, December 11, 1956 to Mrs. Adella and the late Mr. Nathaniel Richardson, Jr. in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was called to take his eternal rest on Thursday, March 3, 2022. He was also preceded in death by his sister: Sheri Richardson-Myles; his grandparents: Nathaniel and Essie Richardson, Sr. and Bert Rogers.
Barry was a loving brother, father, uncle and grandfather. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior and was baptized at an early age at First Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of the late Rev. C. A. Woods, Sr. In his early years, he attended Duval Elementary, Darby Junior High and Northside High Schools. He played football at Darby. Following high school, he served 10 years in the United States Marines Corps. In his own words, “While in the Marines, I was in North Carolina, South Korea, Japan (Konawa) and back to Camp Pendleton in California. As a member of the Military Family, my job was a motor vehicle operator. After returning back to Camp Pendleton, I had the opportunity to work as an Instructor of Commercial Vehicles. While serving my country, I decided to take some GED classes to complete my GED. After receiving my GED, I completing a year of college in Irvine, California”. Once he returned home, he also worked for over 30 years at Gradau, Inc. Fort Smith (Macsteel).
Barry will be forever cherished by his mother: Adella Richardson of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his two children: Barry (Keisha) Richardson of Rogers, Arkansas and Tiffany (James) Bates of Riverdale, Georgia; four grandchildren; two sisters: Anita (Andre) Richardson-Sanders and Natalie Perry both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; four brothers: Aaron (Mildred) Richardson of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Kenneth (Tinika) Richardson, Sr. and Maurice Richardson both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Phillip (Kasheila) Richardson of Shreveport, Louisiana and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public walk-through will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, AR 72901.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel.
Committal service and final resting place will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery Fort Smith, Arkansas.
