In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Jackson family. Carley’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Carley Jackson.

Carley “Pete” Jackson was a blessing from God given to the late Otis and Ruby (Wright) Jackson, Sr. on Tuesday, April 6, 1954 in Morrilton, Arkansas. He was called to take his eternal rest on Friday, April 23, 2021 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is also preceded in death by his oldest brother, Otis “Sonny” Jackson, Jr. and a grandson, Quenton Alexander.


Carley attended the Public School System in Morrilton, Arkansas. He graduated from Morrilton High School in 1972. He enlisted in the United States Military and was honorably discharged in 1974. He was baptized in Morrilton as a youth. At the age of 14 he met Susan Jackson, who he later married. They enjoyed 47 years of blissful union and to this union was three children. He had a daughter, Terrie Alexander prior to his marriage.


Carley and Susan moved to Fort Smith in 1977. He started working at Whirlpool Corporation in 1978 and at age 42, he retired. Anyone who knew Pete knew that he had friends in ALL walks of life, and he never met a stranger. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. His wife was his everything. He will truly be missed by his family and many friends.


Visitation will be Friday, April 30, 2021 from 11 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11 a.m. at New Covenant International Center 4400 North N Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
