Carolyn Wright was a gift born to the late Rev. James F. Adams, Sr. and Nancy Woods on Thursday, February 7, 1946 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was called to enter into her eternal rest on Sunday, January 31, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William R. Wright, Sr.; two brothers, Harold W. Flynn (Sonny) and Robert Woods, and three sisters, Amanda Adams, Serrena Ewell, and Frances Adams.

Carolyn was educated in the Fort Smith Public School and graduated from Lincoln High School Class of 1964. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Campbell Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. She taught Sunday School, served with the Women’s Missionary Society, and Stewardess Board #1. She also served as President of Area IV Women’s Missionary Society.

Carolyn united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, William R. Wright, Sr., on Saturday, June 12, 1965, and this union was blessed with two children, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She had a loving spirit with a natural gift of caring, sharing, and giving to practically everyone never expecting nothing in return. She was like her late husband, who never met a stranger. She could be a tough cookie at times, but always wrapped and delivered with love. One thing she loved doing was dancing!!

Carolyn could be known as one of God’s angels helping us along in this earthly journey. What a blessing to have lived in a space and time with a loving spirit who demonstrated a natural gift of loving, caring, sharing, and giving to all in need. All she had to know was that someone needed something, and she was all in for helping them (if she had; you had). She was truly a beautiful person, inside and out. She will be dearly missed by many.

Carolyn will be forever cherished and remembered by her two children, Irene Wright and William (Sherry) R. Wright, Jr.; her five grandchildren, William R. Wright, III (Trey), Konztance M. Wright, Ateya (Sam) L. Smith, Skylar Wright, and Lisi R. Wright; five great-grandchildren, Trey A. Vargeson, Conner Vargeson, Joshua A. Wright, Gracyln M Wright, Emma L. Smith; two brothers, Rev. Elmer (Clarese) J. Adams and Herbert (Kathryn) W. Flynn, Sr.; a sister, Mamie Feimster, a host of nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends.

Walk through visitation will be Friday, February 5, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.

Celebration of Life and Committal Service will be held Saturday February 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Oak Cemetery 1401 South Greenwood Avenue Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
