Charlie’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Minister Charley Mae Palmer.

Evangelist Charley Mae Moore-Palmer, affectionately known as Grandma Charley, was a gift from God given to the late Sidney and Eddie Mae (West) Moore on Sunday, December 10, 1944 in Eudora, Arkansas. She was called to take her heavenly rest on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Noah Palmer, Sr.; her four siblings, Erie D. Moore, Eddie Bee Moore, Inella Moore-Akis. Ira Lean Moore-Clements and Bobbie Nell-Moore; her god-parents, Harrison and Pearl Scott, seven step-sons and two step-daughters.
Charley grew up in Eudora an attended East High School. She worked in a variety of jobs and was a short-term entrepreneur, owning a Wig Center. She enjoyed travelling and being around family. She was a strong-willed woman of faith. Charley accepted Christ as her personal Savior at a very early age. While in Eudora, she was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. While worshiping many years at New Zion, she was member of the choir and tried her hand at the piano. Relocating to the Fort Smith area, she became a planted member of the Saint James Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Gary L. Hinkle and present leadership Pastor Paul E. Davis. She served as an associate minister and was a part of the Ministerial Alliance and the Church Reminders Club (CRC).
Charley was joined in holy matrimony to Noah Palmer, Sr. in 1962 before he was called to take his eternal rest in 1989. To this blessed union four children were given, Cal Palmer, Everteen (Mack) Jackson, Cindy Palmer and Leeanna (Earl) Jones. Charley will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of her walking through their lives. SHE WAS TRULY A CHILD OF THE MOST-HIGH KING!
Charley leaves to cherish her memories her four children, four siblings, Samuel Moore, James Moore, Albert Moore, Ardis Moore all of Nevada; a sister, Amy Moore of California; a god-sister, Geraldine Scott of Missouri; five step-sons, General, Noah, Jr., Venelle, and Leroy Palmer all of Illinois and Ray Palmer of Arkansas; a step-daughter, JoAnn Palmer of Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, four special friends, Karen James, Elaine Newson, Rosa Woddis and Lena Jackson, a host of other family members and many friends.
Visitation will be Friday, June 11, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday June 12, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Ministers’ Institute 1329 Front Street Eudora, Arkansas 71640.
Committal service and final resting place will be at the Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne, Louisiana.
