In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Washington family. Connie’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Connie Washington.

Connie Larue Washington “Meme” was a gift from God given to the late Robert Taylor and Vetta Guinn on Monday, February 23, 1942 in Alma, Arkansas. She was called to take her eternal rest on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Washington.
Connie attended Lincoln High School. She united in holy matrimony with Frank Washington on Friday, December 13, 1968 and to this union they added their daughter, Soniquea. She professed her faith with the Jehovah Witness and remained a faithful servant until her health caused her to no longer attend.
Connie loved her family and extended family, especially her grandchildren. Her home was always open to anyone who entered and she would always offer you a full meal. She was a giving person, who would give to anyone in need. Connie was retired from the Whirlpool Inc. Meme will be greatly missed by all who treasured her throughout her life.
Connie will be forever cherished and remembered by her daughter, Soniquea Washington; three grandchildren, Lania Birdsong, Nadia Washington and Frank Washington; three great-grandchildren, Namiya Birdsong, Lola.reese Ross and Terrance Wells; two sisters, Arcy Scales and Cathryn Fulbright; four siblings fostered into the family; Benny, Joe, Shelia and Veronica Taylor all of Fort Smith, Arkansas, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 4, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.

Committal service and final resting place will be on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Fort Smith National Cemetery Fort Smith, Arkansas.
