Darris’ earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Darris Laroy Hopkins.

Darris Laroy Hopkins was born on Wednesday, July 19, 1989 in Kansas City, Missouri to Patrick Laroy Hopkins and Angela Ronnette Coleman. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his father and his grandfathers: Rodney Coleman and Albert Wilburn.
Darris attended elementary and high school in Kansas City, after which he moved with his family to Fort Smith, Arkansas. He made friends easily. He loved music and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a life-long, die-hard “Chiefs” fan. Though anyone would tell you his greatest love and proudest accomplishment was his son: Damaris (Boogie).
Though laid back, he was always known as a hard worker. Starting in high school, He worked for his cousin’s Subway restaurant, where he exceeded expectations. Even at a young age, he was given more responsibility due to his trustworthiness and professionalism. When he moved to Fort Smith, he found an employment position at KFC, where he worked for 10 years; rising to a management position due to his work ethic, dedication and all-around great attitude. After KFC, he worked at Tyson Foods, Inc. in Van Buren, Arkansas until the time of his death.
Darris leaves to cherish his memories his son, Damaris Patrick Hopkins (Natasha Bishop); his mother, Angela Coleman; his grandmothers: Shelia Brown and Clare Wilburn; his sister: Shannon Douglas (William); his two brothers: Darrian Hopkins (Catrina) and Terrance Reed (Asante Witty); two aunts: Kimberly Coleman and Clarissa Laporte, along with a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
