Jerreldean's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Jerreldean Ross.

Jerreldean “Deanie” “Jerri” Evans Ross was born on April 30, 1952, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Cleveland Evans Sr. and Clara Nelson Evans.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Claretta Evans, Sylvia Loletia (Evans) Austin, and Evelyn Jetson; her brother, SSGT Cleveland Evans Jr.; her paternal grandparents, Moses and Katie Bell Evans; maternal grandparents, Ophelia Mason and John Tucker; her grandson, Deangelo Nero; and her granddaughter, LeSabriona Nero.
Jerreldean was called by God at an early age and fully embraced His calling in 1983. From then on, she committed her life to doing God’s will. She became a devoted member of Zion Temple Progressive Christian Fellowship, where she studied the Bible deeply. She was licensed and ordained to teach and preach the Gospel and actively served in outreach ministry.
She later married her best friend, Edward “Ted” Ross, and in 2013, became a faithful member of Restoration House of Praise in Conway, Arkansas, where she continued her ministry under the leadership of Pastor Bishop Barry Macon.
Jerreldean attended Douglas Elementary School in Hot Springs (grades 1–4 and 6), and Langston High School for grades 7–11. She graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1969, as part of the school’s first integrated class. In 1970, she graduated from the inaugural class of Ouachita Memorial Hospital’s School of Practical Nursing. She began her nursing career at OMH, where she worked for 16 years in the nursery and later in labor and delivery.
In 1986, she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Garland County Community College (now National Park College). She went on to work at National Park Medical Center and later at Physicians for Women, where she served faithfully for 19 years until her retirement in 2009.
Jerreldean then ran her own home business, Side-By-Side, Inc., until 2013. That August, she began working as a teacher’s aide with the Hot Springs School District at the historic Langston Magnet Elementary School. She cherished her five wonderful years there and retired again in May 2018.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Edward (Ted) Ross; her brother, Jerry Jerome Evans of Conway, Arkansas; her daughter, Stephanie Thompson Matlock of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; stepdaughters, Carla (Whitt Harris) of Hot Springs, Allisyn (H.D.) Smith of Conway, and Kaytlin Ross of Alexander, Arkansas; stepson, Christopher (Chanece) Ross of Hot Springs; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; along with many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of wonderful friends.
