Raymond Lee Posey, better known as “Red Dawg”, was born June 18, 1960, to Andrew and Mae Willie Posey in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He entered eternal rest on September 1, 2026.
Raymond was preceded in death by his father; Andrew Posey, his mother; Mae Willie Posey, sister; Tilda Louise Massey (nee’ Posey), brothers; Eartha Lee Posey and Edward James Posey.
He spent his childhood growing up in Moffett, Oklahoma, and attended school in both Moffett and Roland, Oklahoma.
Raymond “Red Dawg” had no enemies and loved everyone. He had a friendly, engaging personality that loved life and encouraged those around him to do the same. He was baptized into the faith at an early age, while attending New Morning Star Baptist Church of Moffett.
He was a former athlete and remained a student of various sports. He had a special place in his life for the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners. He only had one group he didn’t specifically love, and that was the Razorbacks. He was a snappy dresser and loved his chains and made sure he was “dressed right” no matter the occasion. Anyone that interacted with “Red Dawg” was impacted by his smile, personality and his hearty handshake. His favorite question was “You Got One?”
Raymond is survived by his siblings: Jessie (Donnie) Youngblood of Muldrow, Oklahoma; Virginia (Lee) Massey of Moffett, Oklahoma; Parthina (Paul) Parker of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Darlene Posey of Muldrow, Oklahoma; Elizabeth (James) Russell of Wichita, Kansas; a bonus daughter, Tarsha Logan of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and a special dear lifelong friend; Loressa Jackson.
