On Wednesday, March 3, 1937, God blessed John Willie & Mary (Williams) Mewborn with a baby girl, Jessie Louise Mewborn, in Watonga, Oklahoma. She was the sixth of their twelve children. On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, God called her to eternal Rest. She has gone to join her husband: Theodore; her daughter: Janice (Thompson) Keaton; her great grandchild: London Guy; her parents, and her siblings: Mildred Brown, Freddie Leon Mewborn, Orlando Mewborn, John Mewborn, Lee Ethel Wilkerson, Donald Mewborn, and Joyce Harrison.

Jessie (known to most as Louise and others as Mama Lou) accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Watonga. She was educated at Dunbar Elementary School and after much determination, in 1994 she received her GED. While living in the early years in Watonga, she truly loved being around her family. She spoke of how her parents’ house was the place where people would stop and visit. Her father would be in the yard and her mother on the front porch; any and everyone was welcome to stop for a visit.

While living in Watonga, she married Theodore Autrey Robinson. They eventually moved to Fort Smith, AR with four of the seven children with the help of Mr. Earl (Barbara) Logan. Her first friend was her sister, Juanita. Her other dear friends were Vermer Brown, Pearl McKinney, Ratha Chatman, Jennie Delt, Melinda Scott, and Dorothy Jones. She was a hard-working lady who raised her children in the Arms of the Lord. In Fort Smith she joined to St. James Missionary Baptist Church, where she worked many years in the Kitchen (Co-Chairperson), and the Mission (Rebecca Davis Circle). As a part of the kitchen, she was known for her chicken spaghetti, funeral green beans, crack Kool-Aid, and yellow cake with chocolate icing.

She started working at an early age and did not stop until she was eighty-three years old. Her longest span of work was 30 years at OK Hatchery from which she retired. She did not enjoy retirement, so she worked for over 20 years at Atlas Uniforms. The onset of COVID ended her work career. The one thing we loved about our mom, was that she was a “Social Butterfly”. She truly loved talking to people, and one of her favorite things of hers to do was to walk slowly down the aisle at St. James speaking to everyone before getting to her seat.

Louise leaves to cherish her loving memories, her children: Alfred (Gwyenette) Robinson, Carol Ann Gordon, Anna (Robert) King, Kattie Robinson, Michael (Denise) Robinson, and Rev. Valeria Robinson; five grandchildren: Sharee Robinson, Natasha Brown, Alan Robinson, Lauren Rozell, and Paul (PJ) Gordon, Jr; three Great-Grandsons: Cannon (Ma’at)Sharlow, Preston Butler, and Logan Rozell; three Great Great-Grandsons: Ajani, Josiah, and Ezra Sharlow; her siblings: Frances Smith, Melvin  Mewborn, Lewis  (Pat) Mewborn and Donna Mewborn; a brother-in-law Kenneth Harrison, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday January 29, 2026, 9:00am to 3:00pm Rowell Parish Mortuary Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas; and from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at St. James Missionary Baptist Church 4916 High St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904 followed by a celebration of life service on Friday January 30, 2026, 11:00am St. James Missionary Baptist Church 4916 High St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.

Burial and final resting place: Fort Smith National Cemetery 522 Garland Ave., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
