In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Toney family. Marietta’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Marietta Elaine Toney.

Marietta Elaine Toney was born in Morrilton, Arkansas on October 31, 1965 to the late Grover Toney and Ruby Lee Toney.


Marietta attended Chadsey High School. She worked for the Internal Revenue Services for 30 plus years. Marietta joined Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the late 1970's under the leadership of the late Pastor W.H. Thomas, Sr. Marietta served in the capacity of Usher, choir member, and helper to the Pastor's aid committee.


Marietta is preceded in death by her grandmother, Arma Lee Patterson and brother-in-law, Bobby Earl Criswell.


Marietta was loved by everyone. She was the life of any party! In 1985, she gave birth to her only child, Chatella Chantel Brockman. Marietta was the most caring and giving person! She had a heart of gold and she went above and beyond for the people she loved, especially her mother, Ruby Lee Toney.


Marietta Elaine Toney leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Chatella Chantel Brockman of Little Rock, Arkansas; mother, Ruby Lee Toney of Springfield, Arkansas; siblings, Linda B. Smith of Morrilton, Arkansas, Susan K. Criswell, Glenn A. Toney, Frances R. (Otis) Grant, and Gyaun L. Toney all of Springfield, Arkansas, Diane Dukes of Mesquite, Texas, James Clark of Detroit, Michigan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Family and friends walk through visitation will be held Friday, May 28, 2021 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021, 12:00pm at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 728 Mt. Olive Rd., Plumerville, Arkansas 72127.
