In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Briggs Family. Michelle's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Michelle Briggs.

Michelle Denise Briggs of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died on June 13, 2025. She was 56 years old.


Michelle is survived by her two (2) daughters, Brittney Butler (Rusty) of Fort Smith Arkansas, and Paige Briggs of Nashville, TN.  She is also survived by her mother Vadine Kinnard of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Grandmother Charlene Whitfield of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three brothers Che’ Kinnard of Fort Smith Arkansas; Marcus Collier (Shonda) of Dallas TX; Herbert Collier Jr (Trish) and Andrew Black both of   Sacramento CA. She also leaves to cherish her memories; two (2) sisters Angela Collier of Sacramento California and Tammy Collier of Dallas Texas, along with her two (2) grandchildren: Kendra Shauniece Butler, and Kaitlyn Denise Butler both of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

 

She was preceded in death by a son, Pierre’ Briggs of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and her father Herbert   Collier of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

 

Michelle was born on March 6, 1969, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Vadine Kinnard. She accepted Jesus at the age of 14 and was baptized at Avalon Church of Christ, in Los Angeles CA. Upon returning to Fort Smith, she moved her membership to Ninth Street Church of Christ where she remained faithful until her death. Michelle was educated in the Fort Smith Public Schools systems where she graduated from Northside High School, Class of 1987.

 

Michelle was employed at Whirlpool Manufacturing for fifteen (15) years until their closing. Michelle found further employment at Klein tools where she was employed for seven (7) years until her health began to fail and she could no longer continue her work.

 

Michelle enjoyed taking her daughters out of town to see and do new and different things. She enjoyed watching her granddaughters play sports and being involved in school activities. She also enjoyed playing volleyball, and softball, and going to basketball games, and teaching her grandkids new things; like playing dominoes. Last, but not least; she loved attending church and trying new foods.                                                                                                                                                                                               

Walk through visitation for family and friends will be Friday June 27, 2025; 10:00am to 7:00pm Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901. Family will visit with friends 5:00 to 7:00pm.


Celebration of life service will be Saturday June 28, 2025; 11:00am Ninth Street Church of Christ 1930 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.


Committal and final resting place: Oak Cemetery 1401 S. Greenwood Ave., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
