Ronald’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Ronald Taylor.

Ronald O. Taylor, affectionately known as "Ron" was born on July 28, 1951, to the late Reverend John and Louella Taylor. He departed this life on September 30, 2020 at 11:41pm at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Ron was preceded in death by both parents, the late Reverend John and Louella Taylor and one daughter, Tarika Taylor.
Ron was married to his devoted wife Bettye on August 23, 1975 and were blessed with three beautiful children, Tariq, Tarika and Jaqueline Taylor.
Ron graduated from Oak Grove High School where he played football, attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and held numerous jobs before becoming an entrepreneur as a hair stylist, and later, owner and operator of a day care center.
Ron's spiritual growth began at an early age. He grew up in Trinity Grove Baptist Church, later joined St. Mark Baptist Church and in recent years, became a spiritualist, connecting with his African heritage. Ron did extensive research and shared his knowledge with family and close friends. His faith in God and connection to our ancestors remained steadfast.
Ron was a social justice advocate and deeply committed to equality, liberation and empowerment of black people and those from the African diaspora. He remained cognizant of civic responsibility and the power of the vote and activism to eradicate all forms of social injustice.
Ron is survived by his beautiful wife of 45 years, Bettye Taylor of Maumelle, Arkansas; one son, Tariq Taylor of Plano, Texas; one daughter Jaqueline Taylor of Memphis, Tennessee; granddaughters, Tanniel Pirtle of Maumelle, Arkansas, Danielle Pirtle of Memphis, Tennessee, Shantel Pirtle of Omaha, Nebraska; two great granddaughters, Taylor Lamb of Maumelle, Arkansas, Embery Pirtle of Memphis, Tennessee; two sisters, Eva Jean (Henry) Hollins of Maumelle, Arkansas, Mordean "Teddy" (Dwain) Taylor-Archer of Prosper, Texas; two brothers, Johnny (Alice Faye) Taylor of Maumelle, Arkansas, Jay Taylor of North Little Rock, Arkansas; a special nephew, Danny Brown of North Little Rock, Arkansas; a special niece, Felicia Austin of Dallas, Texas and a host of other nephews, nieces, family and friends.
Walk through viewing will be held Friday, October 9, 2020 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2020, 11:00am with a family hour from 10:00am to 10:45am. Both services will be held at Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church, 8112 Bicentennial Rd., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72118.
Committal Service and final resting place will be held at ElmLawn Cemetery, Little Rock, Arkansas.
