In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Black Family. Thomas' earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Thomas Black.

Thomas Junior Black, (Big T), 71, of Conway, Arkansas transitioned home to be with the Lord on June 20,2025. He was born September 10,1953 to the late John Thomas ( Bully ) Black and Vietta Black Hooks of Conway.

Thomas was a student of the Pine Street Elementry School and he held several jobs including his most recent employment at the Conway Human Development Center. One job that Thomas enjoyed most was traveling freely as he drove from state to state delivering freight once he received his CDL driver license.

Some hobbies that Thomas enjoyed included were going to the Alcohol Anonymous Meetings which he was just honored this week and received his chip for having 23 years of sobriety. It was never easy as Thomas would often say but by the Grace of God all things are possible and be it through my strong connection with God along with my faith I am able to serve just one day at time.

Thomas is proceeded by the loss of two sons Thomas Jr. Black, Scottie Lynn Black, a brother Paul Andre Black, father John Thomas ( Bully) Black.

Thomas heart held a special place for many people of the community as he loved to laugh and talk about the good old days with some of his older friends.

Thomas leaves to morn his best friend whom is his mother Mrs. Vietta Black Hooks of Conway, Arkansas; his daughters, Latoya Washington, Teanicesha Black, and Sasha Washington all of Conway, Arkansas; son's Brandon Washington of Las Vegas, Nevada. Brian Poole (Kaneisha) of Aurora, Colorado and " The Boy" Zion Black of Conway, Arkansas; one brother Charles Black; three sisters Evelyn Halcrombe, Ramona Black, and Jacqueline Hardy (David) all of Conway, Arkansas and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, family and friends.


Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025, 2:00pm at Salem Baptist Church, 4949 Prince St., Conway, Arkansas 72034.
