Tommy Lee Mason, Sr., a lifelong resident of Conway, Arkansas, was born on June 9, 1964, and peacefully transitioned on January 27, 2026. He was a devoted father, proud grandfather, faithful servant, and hardworking man whose life was marked by humility, consistency, and a genuine heart for serving others.
Born and raised in Conway, Tommy was educated in the Conway Public Schools and graduated from Conway High School. He later completed vocational training at Petit Jean Vo-Tech—now known as the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM)—earning certificates in refrigeration and electrical work.
At an early age, Tommy joined United Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully served for many years. His commitment to the church was evident through the many roles he fulfilled, including Trustee, Youth Department Director, Van Driver, Janitor, Groundskeeper, President of the Ushers’ Department, and Deacon. Whatever the need, Tommy answered the call with a servant’s heart and quiet dedication that left a lasting impact on the congregation and community.
Throughout his life, Tommy was a diligent and dependable worker. He held various positions, including cook at Bowen Restaurant, janitor for several cleaning companies, and stocking clerk at Fred’s Super Dollar. Most notably, he dedicated over 40 years of service to Virco Manufacturing, where he worked in the folding chair department, on the loading dock, and later as a Senior Material Handler until his health declined. His work ethic, dependability, and loyalty were hallmarks of his professional life.
In his personal life, Tommy was formerly married to Rita Mason for over ten years. Although their marriage ended, she remained a steadfast presence in his life and lovingly served as his primary caretaker during his final moments. Her care, compassion, and devotion were deeply appreciated and will always be remembered by his family.
Beyond his career, Tommy was known for his generosity and compassion. He volunteered with hospice homecare, offering comfort and support to individuals and families during some of life’s most tender moments.
In his free time, Tommy enjoyed hunting, riding four-wheelers, listening to blues music, and spending time with friends and family. He valued simple joys, meaningful conversations, and living a life of service.
Tommy was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Daisy Ella Bedford Mason (2022), and his sister, Phyllis Ann Mason (2011).
He leaves to cherish his memory his two children, Tommy Mason, Jr. and Brandy Mason; his cherished grandson, Brayden Lee Mason; his father, Henry Mason, Sr.; his brother, Henry Mason, Jr. (Wilma); his nieces, Nasha Scottand Lorie Jordan (AJ), all of Conway, Arkansas; along with a host of extended family members, friends, church family, and loved ones.
Tommy Lee Mason, Sr.’s life was a testimony of faith, service, and perseverance. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, humility, and servant leadership will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
