In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Cross family. Vivian’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Vivian Cross.

Vivian O. Cross was born in Plumerville, Arkansas on May 6, 1931. She transitioned from her earthly home to meet her heavenly father on May 9, 2021. She was united in marriage to Sammie Cross. To this union three children were born.


She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the St. John Baptist Church. She later became a member of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Plumerville, Arkansas. She was a member of the usher board and she loved writing the Mt. Carmel news in the local Petit Jean Headlight paper.


She attended Conway County Training School in Menifee, Arkansas. She was a member of the Eastern Star (Morrilton Star Lily of the Valley #16). She was a homemaker and later employed by Baldwin Piano in Conway, Arkansas.


She loved all type of flowers, sending greeting cards and talking on the phone to her family and friends. She was a good Samaritan. She always made sure she was a helping hand in the community.


She was proceeded in death by her mother, Odessa Reese Foster; Step-Father, Frank Foster; sister, Bertha Levels; grandson, Tommy "Paul" Fair, granddaughters, Michelle Fair and Shanell Cross.


She leaves to cherish her memories son, Duel (Vera) Cross of Plumerville, Arkansas, two daughters, Cubia Fair of Shreveport, Louisiana, Barbara(Ronald) Bridges of Plumerville, Arkanasas, one Sister, Morylon "Annette" (Felix) George of Kansas City, Missouri, one grandson, Patrick Fair, five granddaughters, Sharie Coleman, Marketta (Toney) Canady, Tamberly Cross, Alexandria Bridges, Allyson Bridges, two great-grandsons, O'Shay Fair, Javionne Porchay, three great-granddaughters, Tamera Criswell, Samantha Terrell, Avionna Fair, one great-great grandson, Nolan Chavez along with a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.


Walk through visitation will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 from 12:30pm to 6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021, 11:00am at Edmondson Cemetery, Plumerville, Arkansas.
