Charles Linzy Thompson
Charles Linzy Thompson, Sr., 77, of Fort Smith passed Friday, February 5, 2016 into the arms of our Lord. He was born February 3, 1939 in Dardanelle, Arkansas, was retired from Gerber Foods after 25 years of loyal service, was a Baptist, and an Army veteran.
Funeral will be Friday, February 12th, 11:00 a.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Forest Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wyatt Flake, Stevie Cannon, Richard Savoy III, Patrick McGill, Floyd Shepherd, and Terry Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers will be the grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha E. Thompson of the home; two sons, Charles L. Thompson, Jr. (Stephanie) and David A. Thompson (Dawn) both of Fort Smith; six daughters: Peggy M. Dickson (Lester Jr.) of Clovis, New Mexico, Rebecca K. Johnson of Killeen, Texas, Marion D. Givance (Windell), Kathie A. Thompson (Bobby Brewer), Mabel D. Cannon (Stevie), and Clarissa L. Tucker all of Fort Smith; one uncle, James McNeal of Kansas City, Missouri; six brothers: Edward Thompson of Russellville, Bobby Thompson, Sr. and James E. Thompson (Regenia) both of Dardanell, Jimmy Thompson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Oscar Thompson of Springfield, Missouri, and Anthony Thompson of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 31 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be Thursday, February 11th, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors at 3602 Blair Avenue, Fort Smith.
