Helen Delores Carter

Helen Delores Carter, 69, of Fort Smith, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 in a local hospital. She was born April 10, 1946 in Fort Smith to Paul and Esteller Brewer Releford, was a homemaker and member of Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; mother, Esteller Eubanks; brother, Paul Releford.

Funeral will be Wednesday, March 9th, 11:00 a.m. at Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary.

Viewing will be Tuesday, March 8th, 11:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home and 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the church, where the family will receive visitors and friends.

She is survived by daughters: Beverly Mays, LaTresa Carter and Shawna Hawkins of Fort Smith; son, Charles Carter of Fort Smith; step-son, Kenny Carter of Long Beach, California; sisters: Mildred Woodbridge, Myra Releford, Patricia Mays and LaDonna Jackson all of Fort Smith; brothers: Joe Nathan, Billy Joe and Michael and Gary Releford all of Fort Smith; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
