In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Boes family. Harold's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Harold Boes.

Harold Chester Boes was born July 15, 1925 to Virgil Boes and Florence Ricks Boes in Kansas City, Missouri. He was reared by his grandparents Charley and Ada Ricks. Harold passed away on March 30, 2017 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He attended Douglas School in Van Buren, Arkansas and Lincoln High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a retired employee of the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Harold was a faithful member of Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church, Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; Rita McKinsey to whom he was married to and his sister, Ada Marie Parish.

Harold served in the military service from November 18, 1943 until May 20, 1946. He received an Army Occupation Medal, African Theatre Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, and European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Service Medal.

Harold leaves to cherish his loving memory, his adopted family and caregivers, (The Gary Family), Norma, Brian, John, Jr., and Kevin all of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Angela McGee of Conway, Arkansas; special friends, Richard Willis, Alan Davis, Lola Brown, Euba Winton all of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Nathaniel Steward of Little Rock, Arkansas, Sarah Knight of Van Buren, Arkansas; two cousins, Linda Norwood of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Joyce Jones of Conway, Arkansas; Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church Members, friends and acquaintances.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017, 4-6pm at the funeral home.

Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017, 11:00 am at Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1023 N. 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901. Rev. Michael Barker, Officiating.

Interment will be held at Fort Smith National Cemetery immediately following Celebration of Life services.
