In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Williams family. McArthur’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. McArthur Williams.

McArthur Williams was born to the late Frank and Rose (Whitaker) Williams, Jr. in Rich Square, North Carolina on September 4, 1950. He is also preceded in death by a son, Hasahn Ali Williams; a daughter, Libby Maxine Stevens; and a brother, James Earl Williams, Sr.

McArthur attended W. S. Creecy High School. After high school, he moved to Paterson, New Jersey. He worked at Thomas Bakery and he also did construction. In 1971, he decided to do something different, he joined the United States Army. He served his country for 22 years. He was in infantry for 7years, a communications specialist for 5 years, and a mechanic for 9 years.

McArthur spent most of his military career oversees in which he learned the language of the country where he lived; he spoke 5 different languages. He came back to the United States in 1985 and joined the Army Reserves and moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas. He worked at Fort Chaffee until he retired in 1992.

McArthur was a man who never meet a stranger and would help you as much as he could in life. He loved and believed in his family and unity. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him dearly.

McArthur leaves to cherish his loving memories two sons, McArthur and Jonathan Williams both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three sisters, Frances Lee Williams, Gloria Marie Boyce, and Alice Jean Matthews all three of Paterson, New Jersey; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, many other relatives, and friends.
