In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Macon Family. Andrew's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Andrew Macon.

Andrew Louis Macon, Sr. was born on September 8, 1943, in Mayflower, Arkansas, to the late Lonell and Gracie Macon. He received his education at Good Shepherd Catholic School and Pine Street School. At an early age, he confessed his hope in Christ and united with United Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful and devoted member.


Andrew began his career as a concrete technician with Grayson Construction Company. He later joined the Conway School District, where he faithfully served until his retirement in 2009.


He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ernest Macon, Sr., Elvin Macon, Bobby Joe Macon, and Ozell Macon; one sister, Vernell Stubbs; and one stepson, Gary Crenshaw.


He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Ruby Macon; two sons, DeWayne Macon and Andrew Houston, Jr., both of Conway; one daughter, KaTrina Houston of Conway; one stepdaughter, Tracy Mosley of Conway; two sisters, Nida Hull of Conway and Norma (Jimmy) Kane of Greenbrier; six brothers, Will Macon, Sr., Robert Macon, Ronald Macon, Eunice (Lois) Macon, Gus (Ardelina) Macon, and Glen (Monica) Macon, all of Conway; eighteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.


The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Unity of Searcy and Blossom Nursing Home of Conway for their dedicated care and support during this time.


Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 from 12:00pm - 6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, 11:00 am at United Baptist Church, 139 Old Military Rd, Conway, AR 72034.


Committal service and final resting place will be held at Dukes Cemetery, Conway, Arkansas.
