In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Triplett Family. David's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. David Triplett.

David Tyron Triplett Sr., left this world on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at OU Medical Hospital in Oklahoma, City.

David was born January 21, 1972 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

He attended Duval/Tilles Elementary, Darby Junior High, and was a 1990 graduate of Northside High School. He was a member of the 1987 Northside High School State Championship Football Team and participated in numerous plays as a forensic actor. He played college football at Henderson State University for two years.

David enjoyed spending time with his children, dining at restaurants, and cheering for his favorite NFL team the Philadelphia Eagles. He was also a great rapper. His group “The Polo Club” created the theme song, The New Style for Nolan Richardson’s Coach’s Show. His other group “Xtra Large,” was the first hip-hop artists to perform at the Walmart Shareholders meeting.

David began his work career at Whirlpool and completed it as a night supervisor at Bekaert, a steel company in Van Buren.

He married Tonya Denise Gordon in 2000. He helped raise her two sons Bryant Patrick Crocker Jr. and Brandon Patrick Crocker. They also had three (3) children: Cameron Elyce Triplett, David Tyron Triplett II, and Alyssa Fay Triplett.

David was preceded in death by his parents: Abell Triplett Sr., and Fay Sanders-Triplett. He is survived by his children, his Brothers: Abell Triplett (Felicia) Jr., and Gerald Samuel (Tameka) Triplett, Sr.

He will also be missed by many uncles, aunts, nephews, cousins and friends.


Walk through visitation will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 11am-6pm at Rowell-Parish Mortuary.


Celebration of life service will be held Friday, June 16, 2023, 1 PM at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church; Roland, OK.


Committal service and final resting place will be held at Shady Grove Cemetery.
