Doris' earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Doris Cummings.

Mrs. Doris Cummings Washington was born on December 3, 1958 to the late Willie and Equator Cummings. Doris professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Zion Grove Baptist Church in Twin Groves, Arkansas. After moving, she joined Church Alive in Conway, Arkansas.

She will be remembered for her friendly personality, loving spirit and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, and cooking. She also enjoyed being involved in her grandchildren's sports activities. She was loved by all who knew her but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Doris transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Doris was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie and Edna George; her parents, Willie and Equator Cummings; seven brothers, Alvin, Ervin, Theodore, Billy Wayne, Lenard, two infant brothers; and three sisters, Debra Kay, Barbara, and one infant sister.

Doris will be remembered and cherished by her husband of forty two years, Jackie Washington, Sr.; daughter Latisha Washington; son, Jackie Washington, Jr. all of Conway, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Jaydin, Jordyn, Elijah, Makiya, Aziah; siblings, Choyice (Jesse) Best, and Carolyn Wallace both of Kansas City, Kansas, Princess (Clarence) Ross and twin sister Joyce (Charles) Tillman both of Conway, Arkansas, Mary (James) Cain, Bonita (Myron) Lindsey both of Twin Groves, Arkansas, Joe (Ann) Cummings of Little Rock, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Walk through visitation will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.

Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020, 11:00am at Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1514 US-65, Twin Groves, Arkansas 72039.

Committal service and final resting place will be held at Zion Grove Cemetery, Twin Groves, Arkansas.
