In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Way Family. Earnest's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Earnest Lee Way.

Earnest Lee Way was born in Rixie, AR June 25, 1946, to the union of the former Willie Herman B Way and Bobbie Walker Way. Earnest was raised in Menifee, AR and was an alumni of East Side High School (formerly, Conway County Training School).
Earnest professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. W. S. Thomas, Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Plumerville, AR. In the 60s, Earnest relocated to Chicago, IL met and married the love of his life, Glenda Adams. The newlyweds started a family and was blessed with a son, Eric Way. Entrepreneurs within their own right, the young couple opened up Lee Way’s Auto Mechanic Body & Fender Shop. Earnest was quite creative and skilled in his craft of designing/building and repairing vehicles - his true vocation. Earnest loved music, traveling, cooking and especially barbequing.
Earnest was preceded in death by both parents, both sets of grandparents, his Sisters Betty and Lena, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving son, Eric Way and beautiful granddaughter, Zaria Way of Chicago, IL; his siblings; Doris Anderson of Tacoma, WA, Kirt Anderson and Artis Anderson of Seattle, WA and Adgie Coppage (Jerome) of Chicago, IL; two uncles, Shirley Walker of Berlin, New Jersey and Louie Walker Jr. of North Little Rock, AR, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends; Glenda Adams-Smith, The Fords (Joann) and the Southerlands (Sam).
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, 12:00pm at New Zion Temple Church of God In Christ, 1272 Sutton St., Conway, Arkansas.
