Georgia’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Georgia Kay Young.

Georgia Kay (Lyons) Young was a gift from God on Thursday, April 13, 1961 to the late James Wesley and Lillie Mae (Massey) Lyons in Cedars (now: Pocola), Oklahoma. She was likewise called by God to take her eternal rest on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from Malvern, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by two of her brothers: Johnny and Charles Lyons and four of her sisters: Dannie Mae Lyons, Paula Kirksey, Martha and Florence Lyons.
Georgia accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Union Missionary Baptist in Pocola. She was educated in the Pocola Public School System. She was a sweet, loving, kind-hearted person who loved to cook. She was also family-oriented and truly an all-around nice person. She will be missed by those who really adored her throughout her life.
Georgia will be forever cherished and remembered by her daughter: Michelle Heath of North Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren: three brothers: James (Joyce) Lyons and Julius Lyons both of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Gabriel Lyons of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; two sisters: Jean Lyons of Killeen, Texas and Bertha Clayton of Pocola, Oklahoma, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Laird Cemetery on Texas Road in Pocola, Oklahoma.
