In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Crenshaw family. James's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. James Crenshaw.

James Kenar Crenshaw Sr was born on November 10, 1950, in Lollie Bottom, Conway Arkansas to Willie Crenshaw Sr. and Estella Rogers Crenshaw.


James was baptized at an early age at Salem Baptist Church. He attended White City School in Mayflower Arkansas. He moved to Flint MIchigan at an early age.. James was self employed doing small construction jobs on the side, he was employed full time at Watkins & Hemilock for 35 years making septic tanks until his health began to fail. He later moved back to his hometown Conway, Arkansas in early 2000. James loved people, cooking, fishing and working on cars.


James is preceded in death by both parents Willie and Estella Crenshaw, one brother Willie Crenshaw Jr., three sisters Hattie, Lois, Maeclean, a daughter Felicia Hawkins and a granddaughter Kiata Hawkins.one sister-in-law, and four brother-in-laws.


James leaves to cherish his memories his wife Teressa Crenshaw of Conway, Arkansas: two sons James Crenshaw Jr of Conway, Arkansas: Kenneth Lenard (Tonya) Brown of Autaugaville, Alabama: three daughters Shawn Shaw of Flin, MIchigan: Stephanie Brown of Flint Michigan, LaVisa Myles of Las Vegas Nevada: three sisters Florene Bullock of Kansas City, Kansas: Lorene Crenshaw of Kansas City, Kansas: Barbara Smith of Mt. Morris, Michigan: sixteen Grandchildren and six Great Grandchildren: a favorite Neice Lesia Matthews: two favorite great great nephews JaMarion and Marcus (Roscoe) Macon and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.


Walk through visitation will be held Friday, June 2, 2023, from 1:00pm-6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, 11:00am at Greater Fellowship Christian Church, 1 Wildwood Dr, Conway, AR 72032.


Committal service and final resting place will be held at Duke Cemetery.
