Death of Death: May 21, 2025


In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Giddens Family. Kamiyah's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Kamiyah Chante' Giddens.

Kamiyah Chante’ Giddens was a gift from God; born on June 8, 1996, to Karesha K. Crocker and Leonard Paul Giddens in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  She departed this life on Wednesday May 21, 2025.  Kamiyah attended Fort Smith Public Schools and graduated from Northside High School with the Class of 2014.

 

After graduation, she furthered her career by completing Cosmetology School; and also worked as a Certified Nurses’ Assistant and in Childcare, proving her love for all.

 

Kamiyah had a true love for God and spoke about it often. Kamiyah was a wonderful daughter; and a true friend to many. Her kindness, caring and love are only a few words that describe her character. She will truly be missed.

 

She was preceded in death by her grandmother: Myra “Tuttie” Releford, Stepdad: Bryant Patrick Crocker, sister: Jessie Bradley and Uncle: Alex Reginald Giddens II.

 

Kamiyah’s memory will live on through her parents: Leonard Paul Giddens and Karesha Crocker both of Fort Smith, Arkansas.  Three (3) sisters: Ryneka Church, Hannah (Joshua) Harmon, and LaToya Parks all of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Grandmother:   Clyde Bernice Giddens of Fort Smith; two (2) Aunts: Denna Denise Giddens and Karen Michelle Giddens both of Fort Smith, Arkansas.  A Special Friend: Taza Eagle and a lifelong partner of eleven (11) years: Malcolm Steward.

 

Along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She may not be here in person, but she will always live in our hearts!


Walk through visitation for family and friends will be Thursday June 5, 2025; 9:00am to 7:00pm Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.


Celebration of life service will be Friday June 6, 2025, 11:00am Ninth Street Church of Christ 1930 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.


Committal and final resting place: Oak Cemetery 1401 S. Greenwood Ave., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
