Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Linda King-Sutton of Benton, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 78. Born on August 18, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa, Linda lived a life defined by devotion to her family, an unwavering work ethic, and a deep love for people, sports, and community.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Dr. David Dewayne Sutton, who passed in 2017; her daughter, Summer Sutton; her parents, Joann King and Harold King; and other cherished family members who welcomed her home.

She is survived by her children: Casey Sutton of Little Rock, Arkansas; Sloene Sutton of Sherwood, Arkansas; Shelby Sutton (partner, Rick Cook) of Benton, Arkansas; and Staci Sutton of Chino Hills, California. She was a proud and devoted grandmother, lovingly known as Nana to Robert “Tres” Griffin, son of Sloene Sutton, and Wrenlee Sutton-Cook, who were truly the light of her life.

Linda is also survived by her siblings, Karla King Hardy of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Troy King of Kings Bay, Georgia, along with many extended family members, lifelong friends, and colleagues who were blessed to know her.

Linda graduated from Marshall High School in Marshall, Illinois, in 1965. She later moved to Malvern, Arkansas, in 1974, where she raised her family and built a life centered around hard work, hospitality, and connection. Throughout her career in the hospitality industry, Linda touched countless lives. She and her husband owned and operated the Malvern Bowling Center for many years. She also worked at Embassy Suites in Little Rock, the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel in North Little Rock, and Chenal Country Club, where she proudly ran the tavern, fondly known by members as Linda’s Tavern, until May of 2025. There, she built lasting friendships and meaningful relationships, leaving an indelible mark on the community she loved.

Linda’s passions were as vibrant as her personality. She took immense pride in her family and cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. A devoted sports fan, she loved “calling the Hogs” and attending countless Razorback games alongside her family and grandson. Her home reflected her loyalty, filled with Razorback, Chicago Cubs, and Denver Broncos memorabilia, and she even formed close, personal relationships with members of the Razorback team. Linda possessed an impressive knowledge of sports and could readily recall statistics, rankings, and player histories across nearly every major sport.

Outside of sports, Linda enjoyed gardening, fishing, baking, playing games with her family, and watching games and crime shows. Fiercely competitive yet endlessly loving, she balanced determination with warmth and humor. She worked tirelessly to provide for her family and would truly give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Linda had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved, and her generosity, spirit, and contagious smile will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at New Life Church, 23501 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas 72223, followed by a graveside service at Rosemount Cemetery, 1010 Military Road, Benton, Arkansas 72015. Linda’s Last Tailgate Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Chenal Country Club Ballroom, 10 Chenal Club Blvd., Little Rock, Arkansas 72223. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Razorback attire in honor of Linda’s lifelong passion.

Linda’s legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family and friends will live on forever.
