In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Bell Family. Lois's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Lois Marie Bell.

Lois Marie Josenberger-Bell was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on November 22, 1932, to the union of Chauncy Josenberger, Sr. and Katherine Gordon.  She accepted Christ at an early age with the Mission Point Missionary Baptist Church where she played the piano and sang in the choir.

 

Lois obtained her formal education from St. John’s Catholic School and Lincoln High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas; completing at the early age of sixteen (16). She received her associate degree from Westark Community College, and from there launched her career as an Educator for over forty (40) years; teaching in both Barling School District and Fort Smith School District.

                                     

She united with Greater Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church alongside her devoted and faithful husband John of forty-six (46) years; where she served as Church Clerk, Choir Member, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Choir Treasurer, Mother’s Board Member, and Member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

 

After her retirement, Lois enjoyed caring for her flowers and plants, writing poems and poetry, singing, and playing her piano. She would frequently attend the Senior Citizen Center to fellowship with other seniors and share her faith about Jesus.

                                                                           

Lois leaves to cherish her memory, her son: David Allen (Ladonna) of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Daughter: Phyllis Karen (George) Crump of Lawrence, Kansas; Grandsons: Courtland of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Robert John of Lawrence, Kansas and Edward Allen (Samantha) of Chicago, Illinois. Sisters: Pamela Josenberger of Springdale, Arkansas and Jennifer Josenberger of Richmond, Virginia.  Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her.


Walk through visitation for family and friends will be Friday May 2, 2025, 9:00am to 5:00pm Rowell-Parish Morturary Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.


Celebration of life service will be Saturday May 3, 2025, 11:00am Greater Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church 35 South 22nd St., Van Buren, Arkansas 72956.


Committal and final resting place: Washington Cemetery North 54th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
