In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Williams family. Mary’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Mary Ida Williams.

Mary Ida Williams was a blessing from God on Wednesday, March 18, 1942 to the late Alfred Addison and Amy Turner in Gilbert, Louisiana. She was likewise called by God to take her eternal rest on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Mary was educated in the Gilbert, Louisiana Public School System. She received her Bachelor's Degree and became a Surgical Technician. She truly loved working in the Healthcare Industry. When it was time for her to retire, she hated have to leave the workforce.

Mary was a very quiet and personal woman who was very religious. She had a morning routine that she never wavered from: reading the Bible, drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette. Even though she dealt with sickness, she never stopped her morning routine.

Mary loved to clean; she could clean like it was nobody’s business. She also enjoyed knitting and reading. One thing she loved dearly was all of her grandchildren.

To cherish her loving memory, one son: Xavier (Cloressa) Williams of Fort Smith, Arkansas; grandsons: Xavier Williams, Jr., Willis Williams and Brandon Williams; granddaughters: Danta Williams, Tania Owens, Chaquita Dukes, Shanta Cooper and Monia Williams, several great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
