In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Childs Family. Ronald's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ronald Wayne Childs.

Ronald (Ron) Wayne Childs (66) of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on December 29, 2025. He was born to Louise and Julius Childs on January 5, 1959, in Carolina County, Virginia. He attended school there and later joined the National Guard for about 1- 1/2 years.
Ron found Christ at an early age through Long Branch Baptist Church. As he grew older, he made the decision to move him and his daughter to Fort Smith, Arkansas. After moving to Fort Smith, he met the love of his life, Pam. Pam and Ron were united in marriage on June 15, 2019. To this marriage came four (4) children, who were united as brothers and sisters.
Ron was a family man at heart; he loved to sing karaoke, dance and fishing. He loved his In-Laws and everyone he came in touch with. He loved dressing, and especially his hats.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother: Louise, his father: Julius and brother: Stanley Childs.
Ron leaves to mourn his memories; wife: Pam; one (1) daughter: Angel. Three (3) stepchildren: Jeff and Jaynee Alston and Jamaal Perkins. One (1) son: Jacob (Shelby) Gideon. Four (4) sisters: Gaynell Lambert, Vinita Childs, Francis Childs and Tarita Childs. Six (6) grandchildren: Taliyah Blount, Kiahre Kursh, Alasia Kursh, Zaire Kursh, Julie Alston and Ashton Alston. Stepsons: Christian Jacob Gandee, Christopher Lee Gandee (deceased) and Jeffrey Tyrone Alston, Jr. One (1) living uncle: Chester Pierce. He had three (3) very dear friends: Rocky Jackson, Kevin Trimble and Phillip Noel, Sr. Along with a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A walk-through visitation will take place on Friday January 9, 2026; 9:00am to 6:00pm Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901 followed by a celebration of life service on Saturday January 10, 2026; 11:00am King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church 3509 Johnson St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
Burial and final resting place: Beal Cemetery, Van Buren, Arkansas.
