Sarah Frances Jones, known to many as “Tutu”, of Moffett, OK. entered eternal rest on March 10, 2026, at the age of 80 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  Sarah was born on December 5, 1945, to Earnest Benton Sr. and Maggie (Bell} Benton in Redland, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, three (3) sisters: DoAnn Benton Billings, Tilda Benton Kimbrew, and Bernice Releford, and Four (4) brothers: Edward Bobby Foreman Sr., Earnest Benton Jr., Chester Benton, and Ozell Benton.

She grew up in Moffett, Oklahoma and attended school there. She spent her early adult life living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and later spent a few years in Los Angelas, California. After moving back to the Fort Smith, Arkansas area, she worked at the Whirlpool Corporation until she retired. But she never retired from her God given mission of serving others until the very day of her passing.

Sarah accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and served faithfully for a good portion of her life in New Morning Star Baptist Church in Moffett, Oklahoma until both the church and the town of Moffett was destroyed by a flood in May of 2019. Sarah loved living in the town of Moffett and as soon as she could, she moved back to Moffett and begin attending the Moffett Baptist Church. She loved fishing and went every chance she could. Sarah absolutely loved sports and could be spotted at some type of game on any given day of the week. She loved her entire family dearly and would do anything she could for them.  Sarah mastered caring for others, no matter who they were. She often opened her home to whoever needed shelter or food.  She was affectionately known to many as ‘Grandma’ and not just her own grandchildren, but all who embraced her as such and she loved them all the same.

She is survived by her six children: three (3) daughters: Edda Hefner of Lawton, Oklahoma, Jeanetta (Sam) Henry, and Gwendolyn “Lisa” Bray of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three (3) sons: Elexander Perryman and Cletus (Melissa) Perryman of Fort Smith, Arkansas and James Perryman of Moffett, Oklahoma. Two (2) brothers: James Benton of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Vernell Benton of Moffett, Oklahoma. Four (4) sisters: Laura Thompson of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Mary (Monroe) Castleberry; Earnestine (James) Jones of Roland, Oklahoma, and Sally (Darnell) Blaine of Pocola, Oklahoma. She has nine-teen (19) grandchildren, thirty-four (34) great grandchildren, and three (3) great-great grandchildren. Sarah also has a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins both near and far.

Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Friday March 20, 2026; 10:00am to 7:00pm (family hour 6-7pm) Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901 with a celebration of life service on Saturday March 21, 2026; 11:00am Trinity Methodist Church 1601 E. Shawntel Smith Blvd., Muldrow, Oklahoma 74948.

Burial and final resting place: Center Point Cemetery in Redland, Oklahoma.
