In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Parish family. Valerie’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Valerie Parish.

Valerie (Ruff) Parish was a gift from God on Sunday, September 27, 1953 to the late Bose Ruff and Pauline Thomas in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was likewise called by God to take her eternal rest on Monday, December 19, 2022 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by one of her sons: David Harold Parish.
Valerie early education was in the Public School System in Saint Louis, Missouri. After moving to Fort Smith, Arkansas, she attended Northside High School. She was a very hard worker: she worked several jobs throughout her life. She was as loving as she was strong. Her wise words were always helpful. Some of her many quotes, “Not all that is gone is lost, not all love last forever, and you can laugh and cry at the same time”. She will be truly missed by all who knew her throughout her life.
Valerie will be forever treasured and remembered by her son: Nathan Eugene Parish of Central City, Arkansas; her two daughters: McKenna Roxanne Parish and Lydia Marie Parish both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her three sisters: Deborah Ann Jones of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Stephanie Ruff (Rodney) Morgan and Anita Ruff Willis both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
