Teresa Katherine "Red" Cook
Teresa Katherine "Red" Cook, 69, of Fort Smith, died Monday, November 7th in her home. She was born January 29, 1947 in Fort Smith.
She was the widow of the late John E. "Peas" Cook. Teresa attended Millie's Beauty College earning her license as a cosmetologist. She was self employed and took pride in her gift.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Renna K. Stevenson, her son, Chris E.F. Taylor, and her grandson, Avory D. Taylor.
Teresa acquired the nickname "Red" because of her fiery spirit and flawless red hair. Everyone who knew her, knew her to be honest and that she was going to tell it like it was, whether you liked it or not.
Funeral will be Saturday, November 12th, 11:00 a.m. at the New Morning Star Baptist Church, Moffett, OK under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Willie Adams, Jr., Vernell Benton, Lester Armington, Michael Stevenson, Fred Shaw, and George Woodard.
Interment will be Monday, November 14th, 11:00 a.m. at Fort Smith National Cemetery. She is survived by three daughters: Ursula and Angela Taylor and Sonya Young all of Fort Smith; 6 grandchildren: David A. Logan, Stefawn D. Logan, Jaylen J. Willis, Shatyra I. Taylor, Renada S. Taylor, and
Tiffany M. Young; and 6 great grandchildren.
