In profound sadness, the staff of Rowell-Parish Mortuary want to express our sincere condolences to the Upshaw family. Deontay's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Master Deontay Upshaw, Jr.

Deontay Allen Upshaw, Jr., affectionately known as "D.J." was born May 26, 2016 in Lancaster, California. He departed this life on April 19, 2017 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
D.J. was a loving, beautiful, and happy child whose bright smile left a lasting impression on anyone who has ever come in contact with him or knows him. He was a little bundle of joy that you couldn't help but love.
D.J. is preceded in death by his grandmother, Angelena Willis; great-grandmother, Vernell Willis and great-grandfather, Clem Pearson.
Deontay leaves to cherish his loving memory, parents, Deontay Allen Upshaw, Sr. and Akeila Willis both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; grandparents, Davette Twinn, Robert Upshaw, Akiba McCarter, Martha Twinn, David Twinn all of Lancaster, California, Rosy Dulaney of Jackson, Mississippi and a host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and extended family.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 from 6:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home.
Celebration of Life service will be held, Saturday, April 29, 2017, 1:00pm at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, 15802 Fort Coffee Road, Spiro, Oklahoma.
