Lee's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Lee Andrew Canady.

Lee Andrew Canady passed away on April 10, 2018 at Conway Regional Hospital. He was born October 27, 1937 to the union of Joshua Andrew "J.A." Canady and Lizzie Canady (Thompson) in Morrilton, Arkansas. He was the third of nine children. His parents and two brothers, E.J. and Harvey Cobin all preceded him in death.


Lee accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized and united with the Hickory Hill Baptist Church in Morrilton, Arkansas. The family relocated to Menifee, Arkansas in the 1950’s where he united with the St. Mark Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and Superintendent of Sunday School. He later moved to Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from the Conway County Training School in Menifee, Arkansas. He was employed as a shop floor lead at Virco, MFG for 35 years, while retiring from Virco in 1999. Lee loved baseball and basketball, while coaching baseball team in Menifee.


He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife Mildred Canady (Halcrombe) of 60 years; 3 daughters, Angela (Jerry) Green of Menifee, Arkansas, LuVeta (Dennis) Moore of Conway, Arkansas, TaShaunda Canady of Little Rock, Arkansas; 2 sons, Randell (Donna) Canady of Round Rock, Texas, LeeMoyne (Brenda) Canady of Acworth, Georgia; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; special god son, Lenard Vance; 2 brothers, William (Lovan) Canady of Menifee, Arkansas, Marcus Canady of Morrilton, Arkansas; 4 sisters, Nancy (Everett) Byers and Wanda Canady both of Morrilton, Arkansas, Betty Byers and Dorothy Day both of Kansas City, Missouri; brother in law, David (Nancy) Halcrombe; 3 sister in laws, Bobbie Jean Cobin of Morrilton, Arkansas, Mary Ridout of Little Rock, Arkansas, Emma Jean Handley of Menifee, Arkansas and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and special friends.


Public visitation will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 from 12 Noon - 5 PM and the family will receive friends from 5-6 PM at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018, 11:00AM at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 105 Arnold St., Plumerville, Arkansas 72127.


Committal service and final resting place will be held at the Menifee Community Cemetery, Menifee, Arkansas.
