In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Caldwell family. Dorothy's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Dorothy Caldwell.

Mother Dorothy Dell Brown Caldwell was born January 11, 1930 on a farm in Solgohachia, Arkansas to Levi Isaac Brown and Louise Bozeman Brown. Dorothy was the youngest of three sisters. She transitioned from her earthly tabernacle to meet her heavenly Father and Savior on December 24, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Caldwell; eldest sister, Maxine Carson and granddaughter, Debbie Frazier.
She loved nursing and often spoke of the years she spent caring for nursing home patients. She lived most of her adult life in Kansas City, Kansas and Conway, Arkansas. Due to her declining health she moved to Arkansas and became resident of Salem Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Conway, Arkansas in order to be near her son, Delbert Frazier.
Dorothy began her relationship with Christ at an early age and continued that relationship until her death. She served in several capacities in the church throughout the years. Her service included choir, being a pianist, teaching bible study, performing missionary work and evangelism. While residing in Arkansas she was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Friendship, Arkansas. After moving to Kansas City, she worshiped and served as a member of The Real Church under the leadership of Minister George Carson and Miracle Rejoicing Temple under the leadership of Minister Jerry D. Spratt. Fellowship with other Christians and sharing God’s words were a vital aspect of her life. During her stay at Salem Nursing Center she continued to attend church services, enjoyed the company of her fellow residents and looked forward to daily visits with her son.
She was affectionately known as “Aunt Dorothy” to many. She treasured her loving sisters and her sister-relationship with Dorothy Roark. The sisters often coordinated their clothing for church services. In 1963, she opened her home and more importantly her heart to her son, Delbert.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, a son Delbert (Rochelle) Frazier of Conway, Arkansas; a sister, Delphine Pledger, exceptionally supportive nieces Sandra Ellingburg and Janice Sullivan all of Kansas City, Kansas; granddaughter Sharlette (Murphy) Berry of Conway, Arkansas and a host of loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Celebration of life service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019, 11:00am at Veasley Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.
Committal service and final resting place will be held at Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
