In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the O'dell family. Sherry’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Sherry Ann O'dell.

Sherry Ann O’dell was born on Monday, October 4, 1965 the to the late James Stevenson and Hattie B. Stokes in Chicago, Illinois. She was called to take her rest on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Tiara O’dell; a grandchild, Tiara O’dell-Cotton; and three brothers, Floyd B. Chandle, Jerry O’dell, and James T. O’dell.

Sherry attended DuSable High School in Chicago, Illinois. At the age of 18, she moved to Los Angeles, California. She lived in Los Angeles until she was 31. She then moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas and continued raising her four children as a single mom. She worked as a Production Worker at Atlantis Plastics for 12 years, and OK Foods, Inc. for 5 years. She was a very hard worker in life, who played by her own rules.

Sherry was a quiet person, but truly enjoyed the company of her family and gatherings with her friends. She loved shopping, and a good ole’ slot machine. She always kept to herself on a personal level, but was defiantly an outspoken woman in life. She would always let you know your right and/or your wrong. She will be forever loved, appreciated and missed by those who treasured her dearly with her presence while on this earth.

Sherry leaves to cherish her memories her children, Flonard O’dell of Alma, Arkansas, Shalitha O’dell of Little Rock, Arkansas, DeWayne O’Hara of Springdale, Arkansas, and Tonisha O’dell of Little Rock, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Alexia and Ra’Vion O’dell, Seldon Nance, Kay’Dence and T’Anna Jones, Aa’Yana and Ar’Manii Dennis, Ava O’Hara, Kevin Otey, Jr., DeWayne O’Hara, Jr.; two nieces, Paulitha Pojou and Vernisha Davidson both of Michigan; her seven siblings, Margie O’dell, Charlie O’dell, Eddie Lee O’dell, and Clorine McCray all four of Chicago, Illinois, M. C. McCray and Betty Jean O’dell both of Los Angeles, California, and Elizabeth Thompson of Detroit, Michigan, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A public walk through will be from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901 | 479-782-9200.
